Our Sustainability Strategy
With a clear ambition to drive positive change, we've made key commitments to reduce our environmental impact, champion diversity and inclusion, uphold governance and support our communities. Our ESG strategy comprises four Goals through which we’re aiming to make a difference.

We're taking action
We know we've still got a long way to go but here's what we've accomplished so far:- We’re working hard to understand and tackle our impact on the environment and are supporting our customers with tools that help them transition to low carbon
- We’ve developed and signposted resources to help with financial education and digital inclusion, with particular focus on vulnerable customers
- Through our partnerships and strong links with our Virgin Money Foundation, we’re supporting charities and community organisations who operate at the heart of local communities to enable Digital Inclusion.
- We’ve made external commitments to achieve net zero in our operational and financed emissions and we’re holding ourselves to account by being transparent about our progress
Responsible Lending
We offer a range of loans for businesses whose core activities drive social or environmental change, like developing onshore wind, creating clean tech or supporting social housing. We also want to lend to more energy intense sectors like agriculture or transport, where finance is needed to reduce emissions and move to a greener business model.


Increasing Financial and Digital Inclusion & Wellbeing
Through initiatives like Make £5 Grow, Turn2Us Benefits Calculator and Grants Tool, Good Things Foundation Databank and the Virgin Money Foundation, we’re proudly supporting local communities. As we strive to create a positive impact, we remain committed to transparency and building meaningful relationships within our communities.
